Description

The Production Technician – Turret Perforation Operator will set up CNC machinery for production runs. They ensure the machine has the proper computer program and necessary tools installed, position materials on the machine, and monitor machinery for any problems during production. If an issue arises, operators consult with a programmer. After production, they verify that items meet specifications and quality.

Shift: Mon-Thu, 6 PM-4:30 AM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Punch parts to comply with drawing specifications and create parts to tight tolerances.
  • Interpret drawings, troubleshoot CNC machine code, and produce punch parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and program software.
  • Conduct proper inspection of in‑process parts.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Develop working knowledge of various types of punch holders, tools, punches, dies, strippers, and pins used on the CNC punch.
  • Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpiece on the machine.
  • Install punch tools in the punch holder, turret holder, and die holder.
  • Load control media in the machine controller or enter commands to retrieve pre‑programmed instructions from the database.
  • Start the machine and monitor displays and machine operations to detect malfunctions.
  • Stop the machine from changing punch tools and set up according to the required machine sequence; measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Maintain proper maintenance of machines, equipment, and facilities, keeping them in proper condition.
  • Identify problems and correct them with some assistance.
  • Keep the Punch Shop area clean and orderly, sustaining 5S in the department.

Required

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years’ experience in assembly, maintenance, manufacturing production, or related skills.
Other Useful

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, TPS specs, and engineering specifications.
  • Previous experience performing basic operational functions of CNC punch machines or similar equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced work environment.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and motor coordination.
  • Ability to work with small tools.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety.
  • Must be able to read and speak English to understand work instructions.
  • Must be willing to acquire an understanding of the manufacturing process.
  • Must be team‑oriented and understand the customer‑focused nature of the medical device industry.
