Details

This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts, inventory adjustments and investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies to support manufacturing and operational needs. This role will coordinate closely with Shipping, Planning and Management teams.

Overtime

Employees must be willing to work daily and weekend overtime as business conditions require. Overtime will be paid for all hours worked in excess of forty hours in any one week.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through routine cycle counts, audits and reconciliation of discrepancies between physical counts and system records. Conduct searches to locate product as needed. Execute inventory adjustments of all types (scrap, Y adjustments, etc)
  • Respond to inventory-related inquiries, shortages, discrepancies or expedited requests. Ensure timely follow-through and clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Work to identify root causes of inventory variances. Identify and implement process improvements and create supporting documentation
  • Update and maintain proper labelling and signage for components. Perform any general housekeeping duties as needed to support inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the Shipping department to support incoming domestic and international shipments. Proactively assess space requirements and designate overflow locations as necessary. Ensure that the storage plan is effectively communicated to supervisors, planners and management.
  • Process manual purchase order receipts for incoming materials. Identify and correct any discrepancies. Work with planning team and vendor on resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors, planners and management to assist with any inventory related concerns
  • Works well in a team environment and knows several problem-solving techniques
  • Complete or help coordinate other projects as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in Materials Management in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts (kanban, “pull”, etc.) preferred.
  • Good organizational, analytical problem solving, and communication skills required. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
  • Must be responsible and self‑motivated.
  • Willing to work extra hours as project or production needs dictate.
