LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Cardiac Recovery

Overview

Geisinger is offering a sign-on bonus for qualified Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for Cardiovascular Surgery: $7,500 for eligible candidates and up to $10,000 for LPNs with 5+ years of experience.

• Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data to the provider; prepare the patient for examinations.
• Provide direct clinical care as directed by the provider.
• Assist the provider in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations as directed to facilitate accurate diagnosis.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
• Execute and document ongoing patient communication as directed by the provider; prioritize communication to the provider, respond to patient questions and requests to ensure efficient use of provider time and timely response to patient needs.
• Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice.
• Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensure asepsis, availability of instruments and equipment, and prepare the patient.

• $7,500 for eligible LPN candidates (paid over 24 months)

• Education: Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year nursing experience (Preferred)
• Certifications/Licenses: Basic Life Support Certification;
  Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
