Job Summary
OverviewGeisinger offers a part‑time Inpatient Registered Nurse position at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. The base hiring rate is $41.50 per hour, with higher rates for experienced candidates, an additional $5 hourly float premium, and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

- Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout care.
- Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care per unit standards, including patient/family education and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provides direct patient care: treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies per policy and procedure.
- Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based on patient response.
- Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and team members to proactively resolve patient needs.
- Problem‑solves, troubleshoots, and takes corrective measures in equipment handling.
- Participates in unit‑based decision‑making on evidence‑based practice utilization.
- Actively participates as a team member toward unit and organizational goals and is accountable for metrics.
- Participates in patient quality and safety education programs to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
Part‑time, 24 hours per week, evening shifts. Rotating weekend and holiday shifts.
* Must have ability to float shift assignments across Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville.
Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (Required), Bachelor’s Degree‑Nursing (Preferred).
ExperienceMinimum of 1 year nursing (Preferred).
Certification and LicenseLicensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – RN, State of Pennsylvania.
