Geisinger is hiring a full-time Inpatient Registered Nurse. This role involves direct patient care in an inpatient setting, focusing on safe, compassionate nursing practice and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, organize, perform, and evaluate nursing activities to meet patient needs.
- Promote adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve high-quality care, safety, and patient satisfaction.
- Provide compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions and coordinate patient care among staff.
- Ensure qualifications to provide care for patients in the assigned unit.
- Optimize patient and family experience by guiding interactions and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Complete assessments as defined by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Formulate, coordinate, and provide the plan of care, including education for patients and families and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise the plan of care based on patient response.
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other team members; proactively resolve patient needs.
- Troubleshoot and address equipment-related issues; participate in unit-based decision-making regarding evidence-based practice.
- Contribute to quality and safety education programs and other activities to improve departmental and organizational outcomes.
- Work in a clinical environment and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
- Schedule:
Full-time, night shift (36 hours weekly), every other weekend and every other holiday. - Offer self-scheduling to support a flexible schedule.
- Unit:
Advanced Acute Care Cardiovascular (HFAM8) – 30-bed private room unit focused on Cardiology, Vascular, Thoracic, and Med-Surgical care. - Care includes patients requiring conscious sedation for bedside cardioversions, chest tube insertion, Bi-PAP, high-flow oxygen, and ultrafiltration for heart failure. Cardiac drips may include Milrinone, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Cardizem, and Dobutamine; titratable drips may not be used.
- Care for patients post-cardiac catheterization/procedure and heart failure inpatient interventions.
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Nursing (Required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Default Issuing Body.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – RN State.
