RN Pediatric Procedural Sedation

The RN Pediatric Procedural Sedation assesses, plans, organizes, performs and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of pediatric patients receiving procedural sedation. Provides health education to parents and patients pre and post sedation. Initiates and interprets hemodynamic monitoring parameters. Coordinates efforts of the multidisciplinary team in planning patient care. Evaluates effectiveness of sedation plan.

This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly;
Days.

A minimum of 3 years RN work experience is required; previous experience in Pediatrics and Procedural Sedation is strongly preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Assesses, plans, organizes, performs and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of pediatric patients receiving procedural sedation.
  • Provides health education to parents and patients pre and post sedation.
  • Initiates and interprets hemodynamic monitoring parameters.
  • Coordinates efforts of the multidisciplinary team in planning patient care.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the sedation plan.
  • Collaborates with the department secretary to schedule procedures.
  • Reviews patients medical record for sedation risk assessment criteria.
  • Participates in the teams Performance Improvement activities.
