Geisinger offers a Nursing Assistant position with a $1500 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates, $16.25 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals, and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts. Up to $40,000 in financial support is available to become a nurse.

• Perform clerical duties and direct patient care activities as needed by the unit to enhance quality care.
• Provide patient care within the nursing assistant scope of practice in accordance with each patient’s multidisciplinary care plan.
• Observe, identify, and document patient physical needs, reporting changes in condition promptly to licensed personnel.
• Obtain, transport, and process specimens, perform point‑of‑care patient testing, maintain equipment quality control, and troubleshoot equipment and supplies.
• Assist with activities of daily living, patient hygiene, changing linens, and one‑to‑one patient safety watch.
• Act as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students.
• Perform clerical duties for admissions, transfers, discharges, and deaths; transcribe orders and release/confirm ordered tests; coordinate patient transport for tests; assist in ordering supplies and communicating patient diets.
• Operate, problem‑solve, and maintain clerical equipment and computer systems.
• Transport non‑controlled medications and blood products as needed.

• Schedule:
  
  Three 12‑hour day/night rotations (7:00am‑7:30pm / 7:00pm‑7:30am) including every other weekend and holiday.
• Orientation:
  Two‑week classroom orientation, Monday‑Friday, 7:00am‑3:30pm.
• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – required.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 1 year related work experience – preferred.
