LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Cardiac Recovery

Job Summary

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) – Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic Nurse. Days shift, 40 hours weekly.

Sign‑on bonus: $7,500 for eligible LPN candidates (paid over 24 months) and up to $10,000 for LPNs with 5+ years of experience (paid over 36 months).

• Provides primary clinical support to providers, patients, and families.
• Obtains and documents patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and basic medical data.
• Prepares patients for examinations and assists providers in minor surgical diagnostic procedures.
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens; completes associated paperwork.
• Documents ongoing patient communication, prioritizes communication to the provider, responds to patient questions, and ensures timely responses.
• Administers medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing under provider direction per scope of practice.
• Cleans, sets up, and prepares examination and treatment rooms; ensures asepsis, instrument availability, and patient preparation.

• Education:
  
  Graduate from Specialty Training Program – Nursing (required).
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 1 year nursing (preferred).
• Certification and License:
  Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body;
  Licensed Practical Nurse – Default Issuing Body.
• Skills:
