RN- Experienced Registered Nurse- Float Pool

Job Summary

Geisinger is offering a full‑time Inpatient Registered Nurse in the Central Region Float Pool. Starting at $41.50 per hour, eligible nurses can earn an additional float premium of up to $10 and shift differentials of up to $7 for evenings, nights and weekends. Candidates also receive a lump‑sum hiring incentive of up to $24000 and relocation assistance of $7500 (eligible only).

The position is based at Geisinger Medical Center with a rotation schedule across multiple campus locations.

• Complete assessments according to scope of practice and unit standards
• Address the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care
• Formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care including patient & family education and discharge planning
• Deliver direct patient care: treatments, medications, diagnostic studies following policy and procedure
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise care plans based on patient response
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members to resolve patient needs proactively
• Problem‑solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective action regarding equipment and patient care processes
• Participate in unit‑based decision‑making and evidence‑based practice initiatives
• Contribute as a team member toward unit and organization goals, meeting metrics and quality‑and‑safety targets
• Engage in quality and safety education programs and activities aimed at improving departmental and organizational performance

Full‑time (0.9 FTE), 36 hours per week organized as three 12‑hour shifts. Weekly schedule rotates day/night (7–7:30pm and 7–7:30am) with weekend and holiday shifts. Candidates must be able to float assignments across Geisinger Medical Center, Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, and Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program (required)
• Minimum one year of related work experience (required)
• Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania ( of Pennsylvania)
• Proficiency in bedside nursing, clinical skills, communication, inpatient nursing, and multitasking
