Additionally, drivers should be able to unload freight weighing up to 75 pounds or more as required by customer needs. Your Responsibilities
- Observe loading and unloading of materials, transport, and deliver products.
- Secure loads for safe transport using straps, chains, binders, load locks, and other securement methods.
- Complete trip sheets accurately and submit them to Document Control.
- Meet DOT standards for physical exams, drug tests, and possessing a valid commercial driver’s license, along with company standards.
- Drive up to 11-hour shifts and accumulate up to 70 hours per week.
- Operate coast to coast as part of a team, adapting to the lifestyle of an over-the-road driver, including irregular hours and extended periods away from home.
- Work effectively in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Pass drug screening, DOT physical, and background checks.
- Pass a Post Offer/Pre-Placement Test based on customer requirements.
- Be able to lift, push, pull, and carry unassisted up to 75 lb., including overhead, repeatedly, and over distances of 75 feet or more.
- Perform loading, unloading, and cargo securing duties regularly.
- Engage in activities such as standing, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, handling, pushing, pulling, and lifting during a typical day.
- Perform tasks that require bending, twisting, and rotating at the waist, neck, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
- Work outdoors in adverse weather and climate conditions, including hot and cold extremes, dust, dirt, fumes, noise, and vehicle vibration.
- Operate Class A semi-tractors and trailers, understand brake operations, and perform all in-cab duties for safe vehicle operation.
- Conduct DOT safety inspections, including getting under tractors and trailers.
- Climb in and out of vehicles and trailers multiple times daily, often from heights of 4 feet or more, and operate foot pedals repeatedly.
- Climb to heights of 4 to 10 feet, maintaining balance and physical activity in awkward positions.
- Mount snow chains on tires as necessary.
- Unload using manual or electrical floor jacks, hand dollies, rollers, or other devices as needed.
