Environmental Health & Safety Manager

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager serves as the primary EHS subject matter expert for a dedicated Manufacturing Unit, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety, and sustainability requirements while driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners closely with plant leadership, associates, and cross-functional teams to strengthen EHS performance, engagement, and culture. The ideal candidate combines strong regulatory knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for protecting people and the environment.

This position plays a critical role in achieving both Goodyear's EHS objectives and overall business goals.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as the primary EHS subject matter expert for a dedicated Manufacturing Unit and provide guidance on regulatory and company requirements.
  • Lead the implementation and execution of key EHS initiatives that support plant, regional, and global objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with country, federal, state, local, and company EHS regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Drive EHS improvement strategies, including management system enhancements, governance processes, and employee engagement efforts.
  • Support and participate in the EHS Management System Steering Committee, including development of subcommittees and improvement activities.
  • Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics and KPIs, while developing plant-level goals aligned with broader organizational objectives.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Technical Science, or a related field; equivalent experience meeting country-specific legal and regulatory requirements for safety professionals will also be considered.
  • Experience implementing and managing EHS programs within a large manufacturing environment, preferably supporting 500+ associates.
  • Demonstrated experience developing EHS programs, with manufacturing and labor union environment experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations, along with experience tracking, trending, and reporting EHS-related data.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Master's degree, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation, or other advanced environmental, safety, engineering, or technical credentials preferred.
