Job Responsibilities
- Teach assigned Criminal Justice courses in accordance with college policies; maintain current knowledge; incorporate evidence‑based strategies; teach day, night, and online courses; complete Canvas and RSI training; participate in professional development.
- Serve as faculty lead for Criminal Justice program; facilitate program advisory committee meetings; assist dean with planning, scheduling, and coordination; facilitate communication among adjunct instructors and the ASB division dean.
- Advise students regarding program requirements, career pathways, and transfer opportunities; assist with understanding credentials, licensure, and bachelor’s programs; participate in student recruitment, orientation sessions, and outreach events; support retention and completion initiatives.
- Serve as resource for adjunct and full‑time faculty; facilitate sharing of curriculum resources; assist onboarding of new adjunct faculty; coordinate faculty participation in assessment and accreditation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local law‑enforcement providers and agencies; collaborate with community partners; represent ASB Division in community events, advisory committees, and professional organizations.
- Assist with collection and analysis of program data; prepare documentation and reports for institutional and accreditation review.
- Maintain professional involvement; stay current on the Criminal Justice field; participate in service, committees, and professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or Master’s with 18 graduate semester hours in Criminal Justice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Discretion, sound judgment, ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
- Adaptability, problem solving, conflict management, creativity, and time management.
- Leadership in instructional expertise and staff development.
- Collaborate effectively, works independently and in teams.
- Experience monitoring, mentoring, and evaluating.
- Proficiency with campus resources, software, and learning management systems.
- Commitment to teaching excellence and the community college mission.
- Willingness to travel for professional development.
- 2 years of experience in Criminal Justice field.
- Knowledge and experience with People Soft.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Learning Management System.
- Experience in community college setting.
- Success working with students, faculty, and administration.
Minimal travel may be required.
