Location:
Danville Community College, Danville – 590, Full Time, Exempt. Pay Band 04: $45,000 – $54,000.

This role supports the Workforce Credential Grant Program (WCG) by recruiting and assisting students in non‑credit programs that lead to high‑demand employment.
Job Responsibilities- Recruiting students of all ages and backgrounds.
- Career and educational planning.
- Program admissions and financial aid.
- Work experiences and job placement.
- Key data entry to Workforce Educational System (WES) non‑credit software.
- Supporting student persistence and program completion, implementing retention strategies.
- Assisting students in overcoming barriers to success and connecting them to regional supportive services, including One‑Stop Career Centers.
- Assisting with completion of non‑credit financial aid and scholarship applications and eligibility determinations.
- Participating in ongoing professional development to advance the college mission and initiatives.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned, including assisting the agency or state government during emergency situations.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA's)- Knowledge of workforce systems and support resources for student success.
- Recruitment and coaching.
- Career assessment and development of individual action plans.
- Job search, resume writing, interview skills and professionalism.
- Communication and networking with workforce partners, employers, and funding agencies.
- Employment referrals and work experience placements.
- Collaboration with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
- Workforce development programs (e.g., WIOA, RVHI) and credentials.
- Labor market information analysis.
- Student resources including financial aid (e.g., WCG, FANTIC) and supportive services.
- Listening and helping skills.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Working with diverse populations of all ages and backgrounds.
- Commitment to the community college mission.
- Data systems, operations and linkages.
- Microsoft Office and social media proficiency.
Knowledge, training, or work experience in counseling, human resources, social services, or a related field. Pursue Virginia Career Coach certification within 12 months of hire. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with all stakeholders.
