Tutor and Coach

School year:
Member will provide direct service to students attending Danville City or Pittsylvania County Public Schools. All members will receive tutor training prior to placement. Tutors will work with students one-on-one and/or in small groups. Member will also provide support with hands-on activities to be used to generate increase positive social emotional interactions. Hours will vary and may range from 20-25 hours/week.

Summer:
Member will provide direct and indirect service support to site(s) during summer camps, bridge programs, and family STEM activities. Member will focus on building and introducing curriculum and activities for students helping prepare them for and middle school to improve their literacy, math, and/or STEM skills. Member will also assist with supervision of all students enrolled in the program, and ensure safety and well-being of the children is maintained.

Summer STEM Educators will also lead the efforts in researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating other STEM programs. Summer hours may vary between 8:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday-Friday (20-30 hours/week).
