About The PositionThe Early Learning Specialist supports early childhood programs throughout Ready Region Southside (RRSS) by providing technical assistance, professional development, consultation, and quality improvement support. This position works with providers and community partners to support Virginia Quality Birth to 5 (VQB5) activities and promote high-quality learning experiences for young children.
What You'll DoKey Responsibilities
- Build collaborative relationships with early childhood providers and community partners.
- Serve as a community liaison and ambassador for RRSS.
- Provide technical assistance related to CLASS and VQB5 activities, including Link B5, double coding, and observation support.
- Conduct provider consultations through on-site visits, phone, and email.
- Support regional initiatives, including VQB5 data collection, coaching, and distribution of materials.
- Conduct CLASS observations and support observer needs throughout the region.
- Host and/or facilitate professional development and training.
- Coordinate self-study groups, roundtable discussions, and other opportunities based on regional needs.
- Attend required meetings, conferences, and training events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong critical-thinking, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and ethical practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout the region.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of CLASS and current Observer Certification.
- Knowledge of Ready Regions and Virginia's early childhood system, including VPI and Head Start.
