Overview

PRN Licensed Practical Nurse - Danville, VA at Marathon Health. Responsibilities
  • Support physician in clinical and administrative functions to ensure excellent patient care and experience.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and report findings to the physician.
  • Record patient assessments in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Perform venipuncture, basic laboratory tests, and coordinate with contracted labs for additional testing.
  • Assist with medical procedures and utilize diagnostic and therapeutic equipment (e.g., O2 therapy, EKG).
  • Maintain clean, disinfected exam rooms and stock supplies as needed.
  • Manage patient flow according to scheduling and incoming/outgoing communications.
  • Coordinate referrals and outside care when required and respond to messages from patients, pharmacies, and medical offices as delegated by the physician.
  • Fulfill medical record requests and data abstraction; contribute to a positive patient visit experience.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required, plus graduation from a formal LPN training program and 2+ years of experience preferred in primary care. Current BLS certification and a nursing license to practice in the state of application. Must be able to give injections, complete EKGs, and perform other office-based procedures. Strong phlebotomy skills are required.

Pay and Other Details

Pay Range: $/hr
