DescriptionBoone Memorial Health is seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP)- either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - to join our Behavioral Health team. This provider will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. Working collaboratively with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and a multidisciplinary team, the APP will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and patient education.

Boone Memorial Health (BMH) is a growing, rural Critical Access Health System located in Madison, West Virginia. At the core of our system is a 25-bed inpatient hospital with a 24/7 Emergency Department, which is designated as a Level IV Trauma Center. We also operate a network of outpatient clinics and specialty services throughout Boone County and beyond. Our Behavioral Health team provides comprehensive psychiatric and addiction medicine services to patients of all ages, ensuring access to care close to home.
Preferred Qualifications- Active West Virginia licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
- Active DEA license (unrestricted)
- Active BLS and PALS certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, substance use treatment, and appropriate interventions
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- 1+ years of clinical experience; 5+ years and/or psychiatric specialty training preferred
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and ongoing patient management
- Manage medication therapy, including prescribing and administering injectable medications
- Deliver psychoeducation to patients and families to support treatment goals
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Consult with non-medical staff and serve as a resource for complex patient cases
- Participate in case reviews, interdisciplinary treatment planning, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Travel occasionally (up to 10%) within West Virginia for patient care or outreach as needed
