Job Description

The Vice President of Warehouse & Distribution is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of the company’s warehousing, distribution, and logistics functions. This role oversees a multi site distribution network, ensures optimal inventory flow, drives process efficiency, and aligns all logistics operations with customer service, safety, cost, and quality goals.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field highly preferred.
  • Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, warehousing, or supply chain.
  • Experience overseeing multi site distribution or large-scale warehouse operations.
  • Proven success with automation, WMS systems, and continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma).
Physical &

Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to travel to distribution centers (up to 30–50% depending on network size).
  • Work performed in office and warehouse environments with exposure to equipment noise and movement.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and execute the overall distribution and warehouse strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead long-term planning for capacity, facility layout, technology, and workforce needs.
  • Identify and implement best practices, automation technologies, and process innovations.
  • Drive initiatives that improve service levels, reduce costs, and strengthen supply chain resilience.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across all distribution centers and warehouse facilities.
  • Establish and maintain performance metrics such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, productivity, and cost per unit.
  • Ensure optimal inventory flow, slotting, replenishment, receiving, shipping, and returns processes.
  • Standardize operating procedures across sites.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop regional and site-level distribution leadership teams.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Oversee workforce planning, including hiring, labor forecasting, and training programs.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

  • Champion a strong safety culture and oversee compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, operational audits, and risk mitigation protocols.
  • Oversee facility maintenance, equipment safety, and disaster recovery procedures.

Financial & Budget Oversight

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
  • Drive cost savings through process optimization, vendor negotiations, and technology investments.

    Analyze operational data to support financial decision making.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with procurement, transportation, customer service, IT, sales, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure fulfillment practices support customer expectations and service-level agreements.
  • Collaborate with IT for WMS (Warehouse Management System) enhancements and digital transformation initiatives.

Technology & Systems Management

  • Oversee WMS, inventory control systems, automation technology, and related logistics platforms.
  • Lead technology integration for new sites, system upgrades, or process redesigns.
  • Use data analytics to forecast demand and guide operational decisions.
