Overview
EIT (Electronic Instrumentation & Technology) is seeking a Soldering Trainee / Solderer to join our team at our Danville, VA facility. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, is curious about electronics, and wants to learn a valuable, in-demand technical skill.
No prior soldering experience is required—we will train the right person.
EIT is a Contract Manufacturer providing Electronic Manufacturing Services to customers in Industrial, Communications, Aerospace, Defense, and Healthcare markets. We take pride in developing our people and building skills that last.
What You’ll Learn & DoAs part of our manufacturing team, you will be trained to assemble and solder electronic products used in real-world, high-reliability applications. With guidance and hands-on training, you will:
- Learn SMT, thru-hole, and electromechanical assembly and soldering
- Assemble prototype, pilot, and small-run production builds
- Read and follow drawings, work instructions, and sample assemblies
- Support engineering with product start-ups and improvements
- Assist with rework, inspection, and mechanical assembly as needed
- Build electro-mechanical units using written and verbal instructions
We’re less focused on what you’ve done and more focused on what you’re excited to learn.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong desire to learn soldering and electronic assembly
- Willingness to learn how to identify electronic components
- Ability to follow instructions and interpret drawings
- Attention to detail and pride in quality work
- Interest in working in a structured, process-driven environment (ISO)
