Position: PROCESS TECHNICIAN
Description:
Ameri Staff Employment & Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a Process Technician for a direct hire opportunity with a manufacturing client in Danville, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial production, machine troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and process improvement while maintaining high quality and efficiency standards.
Pay & Shifts of the Process Technician:- Pay: $18/hr.
- $19.95/hr.
- depending on experience and shift - Day Shift: 7AM to 7PM, 2/2/3 schedule
- Night Shift: 7PM to 7AM, 2/2/3 schedule
- Set up machinery according to production plans and job specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Operate equipment within established design conditions and process parameters.
- Monitor system compliance and ensure production standards are maintained during assigned shifts.
- Ensure raw materials and production inputs are available according to production schedules.
- Perform in-process inspections to verify product quality and adherence to specifications.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with Production Supervisors and Maintenance personnel to resolve major breakdowns and perform tool changes.
- Meet production targets while maintaining quality standards and minimizing waste.
- Coordinate material requirements with production leadership to support uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain production and quality documentation, including daily reports, efficiency reports, control charts, scrap calculations, and SAP records.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve machine efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support quality improvement efforts to meet customer expectations.
- Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of industrial production processes and manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with industrial electrical and electronic systems.
- Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance principles.
- Knowledge of quality concepts and production planning.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Experience with servo motors, linear motors, and PLC controls preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to quality and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience preferred.
- Associate degree in Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial production and maintenance environments required.
- Extensive experience with electromechanical controls preferred.
- Experience with servo motors, linear motors, PLC systems, and troubleshooting preferred.
