Maintenance Generalist – Danville, VAJob Summary
General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. You must set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery, use Tyson SAP software to generate work orders and complete daily documentation, read, write, and communicate effectively, apply math for machinery and fluid capacity calculations, and successfully finish all required training.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery
- Use Tyson SAP software to create work orders and submit daily documentation
- Read, write, and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Use math to perform machinery and fluid capacity calculations
- Complete all required training for the role
- Minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience (or verifiable formal schooling in a relevant maintenance/refrigeration trade)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach
- Lift up to 70 lbs. daily
- Work on feet for up to a 12‑hour shift
- Operate in cold, damp, hot, or humid environments with potentially slippery walking surfaces
- Base pay ranges by level:
- MG01 – $25.70
- MG02 – $26.80
- MG03 – $27.90
- MG04 – $29.35
- MG05 – $31.20
- MG06 – $33.05
- MG07 – $34.85
- MG08 – $36.70
- Work shift:
A shift (United States of America) - Compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, and bonuses
Applicants who have worked for Tyson before may be considered for rehire up to three times if they meet the location’s rehire criteria and a minimum of 6 months has passed since their previous employment. Rehire consideration is subject to meeting all rehire requirements.
