Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Danville, VA, requiring orthopedic surgical experience and AHA certifications.

• Active RN license valid in Virginia (VA license or Compact RN license required)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Handling Without Conflict (HWC) certification required (available on-site)
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience
• Orthopedic surgical experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere

• Work in the Operating Room of a 250-bed academic community hospital
• Serves a diverse surgical patient population of all ages, including total joint replacements, spine surgery, abdominal surgery, ENT surgery, and more
• Orthopedic surgical experience is required, with a preference for candidates with 2+ years of OR experience
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM, with a mix of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts (2x12 and 2x8 per week)
• 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend required, with additional weekend hours as needed
• On-call required as needed
• May be asked to float within scope of practice
• EMR:
  Meditech
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Consent to random on-site drug screening is required, along with completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form
• Navy blue scrubs are provided by the hospital
• Closed-toed, closed-heel shoes required;
  Crocs with ventilation holes are not permitted
• Earrings must be contained within the scrub bouffant; earbuds are not permitted while on duty
• Tattoos that are offensive, gang-related, or hate-related are not acceptable
• Ideal candidates are motivated, proactive, professional, and willing to seek out additional assignments from the charge RN
• This facility is the region's only designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center
