• 31‑bed Emergency Department
• 4:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio for acute patients
• Specially designed behavioral health safe rooms
• Care for patients across the lifespan with a wide range of medical emergencies
• Designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center

Sovah Health – Danville is also an academic teaching site, supporting the education and professional growth of residents, medical students, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and physician assistants.

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.

The right candidate will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and/or physician, assisting with personal care, comfort, and a safe, clean environment while maintaining equipment and supplies. Under the supervision of an RN, the candidate performs basic patient care activities.

Applicants should have a current VA RN license or compact state license.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support required.
• Experience in acute care hospital, preferred.
• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association or Emergency Nurse Association within 6 months.
• Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC), Emergency Nurse Association, preferred.
