RN Clinical Manager – Emergency Room

As a member of the Health Support Center (HSC) team at Sovah Health – Danville, the Clinical Manager – Emergency Department oversees the day‑to‑day operations of the 31‑bed Emergency Room, ensuring efficient patient flow, quality outcomes, and staff engagement.

• Assist in developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives that support the organization’s strategic plan.
• Manage staff relations, performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
• Oversee scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
• Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relations.
• Determine and justify needs for systems, equipment, and supplies purchases, monitor usage, and ensure proper working order.
• Assess the quality of patient care delivered and coordinate patient care services with staff, physicians, and other departments; provide patient care when necessary.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Integrate evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

• Current VA RN license or compact state license.
• Graduate of a professional nursing program.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support required.
• Experience in acute care hospital preferred.
• American Heart Association ACLS required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Association (ENPC) required.
• Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of RN clinical experience in an emergency department.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory/management or Charge Nurse experience, preferably in a patient care setting.
