Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Endoscopy Unit (Endo Schedule). Start time 6:30–7:00AM with rotating call coverage for weekends and some weekdays. Must be able to arrive to patient within 30minutes.
Work EnvironmentUnit covers procedures including Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Bronchoscopy, and GI‑bleed procedures. Operates 1‑2 procedure rooms several days per week, maintaining 1:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio.
Key Responsibilities- Perform plan of care interventions: medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
- Document patient care and treatment given.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition with care team, physician, patients, and families.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines for patient transfer, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
- Evaluate patient/family learning needs and provide education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for patient physical and emotional well‑being.
- Current VA RN license required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in acute‑care hospital preferred.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
