Position Overview

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – ENT Clinical Nurse.

Schedule:

Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. On‑site work.

Location:

Danville, VA.

• Triage patients via phone and walk‑ins, escort to exam rooms, and monitor patient flow.
• Access computer to retrieve patient reports and prepare charts with pertinent medical information.
• Obtain and record patient vital signs, medication lists, and other required data.
• Perform office procedures and assist provider/physician with minor clinical procedures.
• Manage prescriptions: call in/fax, send eRx prescriptions as directed.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by provider/physician.
• Obtain patient referrals, pre‑authorizations and pre‑certifications using eCW.
• Perform administrative duties: answer patient calls, return calls, sort incoming faxes, complete forms as requested.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
• May administer medications, injections, immunizations; utilize office and lab equipment for orders, lab tests.

• Graduated from a practical school of nursing.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
• Valid AHA BLS certification.
• Previous research experience preferred.
• Supervised and delegated by a registered nurse; provides direct patient care in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
