Position Overview

Sovah Residency Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Residency Clinic.

Sovah Residency Clinic is a dynamic, fast-paced practice supported by a team of 50 residents and 7 dedicated preceptors. Serving a diverse patient population—from newborns to geriatrics—the clinic provides comprehensive care across a wide range of medical needs. This is a busy, high-energy environment where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to continuously learn, grow, and gain experience with a variety of conditions and patient care scenarios.

• Triage patients by phone and as walk-ins to the clinic; escort patients to exam rooms; monitor patient flow.
• Access computer for patient reports; prepare patient chart with pertinent medical information.
• Obtain and appropriately record patient vital signs and medication lists.
• Perform office procedures; assist provider/physician with minor clinical procedures.
• Manage prescriptions; call in/fax and eRx prescriptions as directed by provider/physician.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by provider/physician as needed.
• Obtain patient referrals, pre‑authorizations, and pre‑certifications for patients.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• May administer medications, injections, immunizations; utilize office and lab equipment for inpatient orders and lab tests.

The right person will, as supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provide direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Applicants must be a graduate of a practical school of nursing.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Hourly rate range: $22.20 - $29.97 per hour.
