Salary: $20,000 sign‑on bonus eligibility.

Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5:30PM. Location Type:

6A Telemetry & Progressive Care Unit is a blended unit with 36 total beds:

• 24 Telemetry beds staffed at a 1:6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio
• 12 Progressive Care beds staffed at a 1:4 ratio

Patient population includes:

• Chest pain, arrhythmias, post‑cardiac caths
• Post‑pacemaker or ICD implants
• Respiratory distress, renal failure, pulmonary embolism
• Vascular interventions requiring high‑risk anticoagulation
• Stable post‑STEMI patients
• High‑level oxygen support, IV drips, DKA
• Post‑op and medical patients requiring enhanced monitoring

A RN Resources Nurse who excels in this role will:

• Act as the primary admission nurse for assigned unit(s) while on duty, with a high emphasis on medication reconciliation.
• Assign or update "bed ahead" in the Teletracking system to expedite the admission process.
• Provide information regarding the plan of care, complete the whiteboard upon patient admission.
• Work shift hours designated as the highest admit times according to trended data.
• Make rounds to see each patient daily and provide feedback to the unit manager on findings requiring leadership follow‑up.
• Collaborate with the house supervisor on pending discharges and barriers to completion.
• Be responsible for clinical quality initiatives on the unit and collaborate with the quality leader as needed.
• Ensure nurses are aware of available services, encouraging participation in community activity programs and shared governance.
• Assess clinical education needs of staff and identify opportunities for individual nurse development.
• Complete employee and patient incident report forms when necessary, and complete follow‑up investigation forms as needed.
• Provide clinical education validation documentation to employee files.
• Perform other duties related to nursing clinical excellence of the unit.

The right person will perform a variety of duties to provide quality nursing care, manage bed‑ahead designations, deliver clinical education and coordinate admissions.

• Current RN license (VA or compact state).
• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in a clinical area preferred.
• Hourly rate range: $33.22 – $42.91 per hour.
