Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatrics – Day shift. Sign‑on bonus up to $20,000.
Schedule:
3 12‑hour shifts (7A–7P).
Job location:
In‑person. The unit is a 6‑bed pediatric ward with a 1:4 nurse‑to‑patient ratio. Patients include infants with hyperbilirubinemia, post‑operative tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy cases, and low‑acuity respiratory conditions. During low census, RNs may also care for post‑operative GYN and mother‑baby patients.
- Perform all aspects of patient care to optimize safety and reduce medical/health care errors.
- Formulate an individualized plan of care, revise according to patient response, and evaluate effectiveness daily.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, provider, patient, and family following the chain of command.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient and protect patient rights.

- Current RN license in a VA or compact state; associate’s degree in nursing required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified or within 6 months of hire.
- Experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
- Hourly range: $33.19 – $44.81.
