6A Telemetry & Progressive Care Unit is a dynamic, blended unit with 36 total beds:
- 24 Telemetry beds staffed at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- 12 Progressive Care beds staffed at a 1:4 ratio
You’ll care for a diverse patient population, including:
- Chest pain, arrhythmias, post-cardiac caths
- Post-pacemaker or ICD implants
- Respiratory distress, renal failure, pulmonary embolism
- Vascular interventions requiring high-risk anticoagulation
- Stable post-STEMI patients
- High-level oxygen support, IV drips, DKA
- Post-op and medical patients requiring enhanced monitoring

How you'll contributeA Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
- Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

The right person who will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Applicants should have a current RN VA or compact state license and possess an associate's degree in nursing.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months
- Experience in clinical area preferred
Hourly Range - $31.49 - $42.51 per hour
