Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) - Danville Walk In Overview Position Type Description
Boone Memorial Health is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Danville Walk-In Clinic
. This flexible opportunity is ideal for an experienced provider who enjoys caring for patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting and is looking to supplement their current practice.
As part of our clinical team, you'll evaluate and treat patients with acute illnesses and minor injuries while providing compassionate, evidence-based care to the communities we serve.
Responsibilities- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses and minor injuries in an outpatient walk-in clinic
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing
- Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice
- Perform outpatient procedures appropriate to education, training, and licensure
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices
- Refer patients to specialists or higher levels of care when clinically appropriate
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to deliver high-quality patient care
- Maintain compliance with Boone Memorial Health policies and regulatory requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current West Virginia APRN or Physician Assistant license in good standing
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Current ACLS and PALS certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience practicing as an Advanced Practice Provider
- Prefer experience in Walk-In Clinic, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Primary Care
- Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Enjoys working independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Thrives in a fast-paced outpatient environment
- Demonstrates excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
- Provides compassionate, patient-centered care
- Is committed to delivering exceptional service to every patient
