Ascent's products are used as critical ingredients and process aids in applications such as cleaning formulations, coatings systems, oilfield production chemicals, agrochemical formulations, metalworking fluids, water treatment solutions, and industrial textiles.

The Quality Control Technician II applies technical Quality Assurance & Control expertise to complete standard tasks and troubleshoot common issues with increasing independence. The role analyzes routine problems and implements standard solutions, escalating more complex issues as needed. Work contributes to operational reliability and team deliverables. The position operates under general direction and may guide less experienced staff. The role promotes accountability and shares best practices within the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts routine and moderately complex quality assurance tests on materials, samples, and laboratory equipment to verify compliance with specifications and operating standards.
  • Performs functional tests, measurements, and verification activities to confirm equipment working order, test reliability, and adherence to defined quality requirements.
  • Calibrates and maintains laboratory equipment according to established schedules and procedures to support accurate, repeatable, and reliable testing results.
  • Evaluates test data and equipment performance to identify basic trends, inconsistencies, or out-of-specification results requiring follow-up or corrective action.
  • Troubleshoots common testing and equipment issues by inspecting conditions, reviewing procedures, and applying standard corrective methods within established guidelines.
  • Documents testing methods, results, calibration activities, deviations, and corrective actions in accordance with laboratory recordkeeping requirements.
  • Supports investigations of nonconforming results by gathering data, verifying test conditions, and assisting with retesting or equipment checks as needed.
  • Coordinates with laboratory, operations, quality, and maintenance personnel to communicate findings, clarify requirements, and maintain efficient workflow continuity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience required. Experience in a skilled trade or technical discipline may be required depending on the role.
  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to perform defined technical tasks with a moderate degree of autonomy, applying working knowledge of related systems and processes.
  • Ability to resolve common day-to-day technical issues independently using standard methods and troubleshooting approaches; escalates non-routine problems to supervisor/manager as needed.
  • Ability to follow standardized procedures and practices; works under general direction and instruction.
  • Ability to communicate detailed technical information that may require explanation or clarification, using appropriate structure and terminology.
  • Vocational Degree/Certification preferred.
