Job SummaryUnder the supervision of an experienced Project Manager or designee, responsible for assisting with coordination of research projects. Perform day‑to‑day research project activities such as recruitment database searches, mailings, recruitment calls. Schedule research appointments, maintain study documentation, specimen management and tracking (supply ordering, preparation of clinical research lab kits, packaging/shipping of clinical specimens, etc.), data collection and entry, study tracking and reporting, and subject reimbursement processing and tracking.
Job Duties- Conduct and manage minimal risk studies under the supervision of a project manager or designee.
- Prepare, maintain, and track regulatory documents according to governmental regulations and sponsor requirements.
- Assist with subject visits including obtaining vital signs, performing clinical tests, collecting clinical samples, and data collection, as applicable.
- Set up, track, and troubleshoot study technology (e‑diaries, apps, home use research equipment), as applicable.
- Conduct literature searches and fact‑finding research to support project development.
- Ensure adherence to federal or other regulatory requirements.
- Communicate needs, issues, statuses, etc. to appropriate study personnel.
- Assist with grant submissions and grant funding opportunities; participate in pre‑ and post‑award grant process, as applicable.
Secure candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and commitment to patient confidentiality. Candidates with experience in qualitative research, such as conducting interviews, are encouraged to apply.
The Center for Community Environment and HealthThe Research Assistant will work in the Department of Population Health Sciences with the team in the Center for Community Environment and Health (CCEH). CCEH is a collaborative center between Geisinger and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The CCEH team is dedicated to understanding how where people live effects their health. The team studies the built, social, socioeconomic, and natural environment in relation to a range of diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular and respiratory conditions, substance use disorders, and Lyme disease.
The Research Assistant will assist with CCEH studies and additional research projects in the Department of Population Health Sciences.
