Overview

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of the Surveillance Agents on an assigned shift for the effective protection of company assets and ongoing compliance with state gaming regulations. The following is not meant to be a complete list of job functions.

Responsibilities
  • Directly responsible for the actions and job assignments of team members on an assigned shift in the absence of the Surveillance Supervisor.
  • Fills a skilled position that requires leadership and high degree of personal integrity.
  • Assists the Surveillance Director and Surveillance Supervisor in fulfilling day-to-day operational requirements for the surveillance department.
  • Protects the assets and maintains the integrity of the company using Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).
  • Utilizes the necessary surveillance equipment to respond to/and identify questionable activities.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Caesars Entertainment policies.
  • Observe all casino and cage transactions through the surveillance system.
  • Conduct investigations of activities that threaten company assets.
  • Conduct clandestine surveillance of slot machines, table games, cashier cage and count room, as well as other gaming and non-gaming activity.
  • Take responsibility for all surveillance functions in the absence of the Surveillance Supervisor.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures of the surveillance department are adhered to.
  • Report any illegal activities or unusual activities to the Surveillance Director and/or Surveillance Manager and/or Surveillance Supervisor.
  • Perform all related duties as required in accordance with Caesars Entertainment policies, by surveillance department standards and procedures, surveillance department daily requirements and the surveillance department manual.
  • Perform active observations and continuous training of cheating methods, illegal activity to include fraud and theft, and the reporting of those as required in a regulated business.
  • Analyze players, games, and statistical daily reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years casino surveillance experience is required.
  • Must have a high degree of working knowledge of all casino games and gaming regulations.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability and working knowledge of card counting and cheating detection methods.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.
  • Must be willing to work unscheduled shifts on short notice.
  • Must have basic computer operational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and must also be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Neat, professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Set an example and be a role model / leader for all Surveillance personnel.
  • Must be “team centered” and able to promote a positive work environment and team spirit.
  • Must be tactful, maintain confidence, and foster an ethical work environment, prevent inappropriate behavior by co-workers, handle all situations honestly.
  • Able to communicate clearly with staff and management and be an active listener.
  • Must be able to assume a role of authority as necessary in a high-risk crisis, exhibiting judgment.
  • Must be competent in computers and software including Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe. Compiled data and completed monthly statistical reports.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain possession of a Virginia Gaming License from the VA Lottery.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a group.
  • Must be able to hold 15 lbs. with outstretched arms.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors and/or markings.
