Job Summary
Responsible for dual jobs of overseeing security operations and officer duties as needed per schedule.
ResponsibilitiesSupports Security Manager in daily operations, ensures compliance of policies & procedures, ensures manpower & equipment meet daily requirements.
Reviews schedules, reports, etc and makes necessary adjustments.
Inspects officers’ appearance, abilities, attitude & compliance with standards.
Ensures training of all officers, safety standards and prepares reports.
Conducts daily post checks, monitors manpower status board, takes corrective action regarding complaints.
Assists Security Manager in preparation of evaluations & makes recommendations.
Reviews, recommends or initiates appropriate action on those who fail to comply with policy, procedures or rules.
Acts as on‑scene Commander for major incidents.
Advises management of all pertinent info regarding shift or department.
Responsible for safety & protection of the Casino, employees & guests.
Qualifications- High school diploma preferred.
- 5 years of law enforcement or military experience preferred.
- Some casino security experience preferred.
- 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
- Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Must be able to obtain a Virginia Gaming License from the VA Lottery.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Must tolerate areas containing second‑hand smoke.
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance per schedule.
- Walk, work and stand, inside and outside, occasionally in heat >115°F or cold 200 pounds.
- Respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
- Work independently.
- Stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip and carry heavy loads; maneuver quickly on level surfaces and up/down stairs.
- Lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- Push or pull up to 150 pounds.
- Respond to visual and aural cues.
- See and remember specific details of incidents and persons.
- Make rational decisions when handling guests and employees.
- Tolerate areas with secondary smoke.
- Bend, twist, turn, squat and rotate body.
- Lift above head occasionally.
- Run on level surfaces, and up/down stairs.
- Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
