HVAC​/R; Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

A Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician will support and oversee the repair of Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The role requires applying commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills using hand, power, and digital tools to complete work orders and maintain equipment reliability.

• Maintain and repair refrigeration, HVAC, and related assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart’s safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and work safely at ladders and heights.

• 2 years of commercial HVAC/R maintenance experience.
• Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA Refrigerant handling certification.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; must pass an MVR report.
• High school diploma or equivalent; 18 years or older.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience preferred.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical or HVAC/R license in the state where the job is located.

• Hourly rate $23.00–$45.00; actual rate may include premiums for schedule, season, or specific tasks.
