Support Services Of Virginia (Ssva) is seeking compassionate individuals, couples, and families throughout Danville, Pittsylvania County, Chatham, Gretna, Halifax County, South Boston, South Hill, Clarksville, Boydton, Martinsville, Collinsville, Henry County, and surrounding communities to become sponsored residential providers.
Providers offer a safe, welcoming home to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while helping them grow, achieve personal goals, and become active members of their communities.
CompensationSponsored residential providers can earn approximately $48,000-$124,000 annually, depending on the support needs of the individual(s) served and program funding levels. Payments are made on a biweekly basis.
What Providers Do- Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home
- Help an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities build independence
- Support daily living skills and personal goals
- Encourage community involvement and meaningful relationships
- Partner with Ssva to support a strong match based on compatibility, lifestyle, and interests
- Free required training
- Guidance through licensing and certification
- Ongoing professional support from an experienced team
- 24/7 on-call assistance
- Biweekly payments
Applicants must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be active within the local community
- Have at least six months of personal or professional experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Be comfortable using technology and electronic documentation systems
- Demonstrate effective written communication skills
