Job DescriptionGeneral Definition of Work
Under the direction and supervision of the Director I - Transportation Services and the Assistant Director of Transportation Services, the School Bus Driver performs intermediate semi‑skilled support work in the transportation of pupils to and from school and special events; does related work as required.
Essential Functions- Operates a school bus on an assigned route and schedule
- Picks up and transports children to school daily
- Transports individuals or groups for recreational and social activities
- Checks equipment and reports defects
- Washes buses
- Sweeps interior of buses and cleans windows
- May operate special vehicles for transportation of special students
- General knowledge of the issues involved in operating a school bus
- General knowledge of the geography of the city and the location of streets
- Skill in the safe operation of a school bus
- Ability to detect malfunctioning equipment
- Ability to assist children using patience and understanding
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, public, associates and students
High school diploma or GED required.
Position Type: Part‑Time
Salary: $14.79 to $23.67 Per Hour
