Position Overview

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Danville, VA. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

• $2,000 – $2,200 per week
• Paid weekly
• Weekly mileage pay: $0.69 per mile with a target of 6,000 miles per week
• Stops pay: $15.00 per stop with 4 stops per week
• Drop and hook pay: $10.00 per drop/hook
• Sign‑on bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
• Loyalty bonuses: $1,250 at 6 months and $1,250 at 1 year

• Typical schedule:
  
  Sunday/Monday off, work Friday and Saturday with varied start times

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards while maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Load, unload freight, or assist in loading/unloading as required by customers.
• Travel regionally: CO, CA, UT, and Central U.S.; routes are regional.
• Operate sleeper tractors with dry van trailers (48" or 53").
• Deliver freight assignments (no touch – packing supplies).
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

• Minimum age 21.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from prior employers for the last three years).
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide an appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past three years, or
  • 2 years’ experience within the last five years, or
  • 5 years’ experience within the last ten years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
