Managed IT Support Technician SummaryNetlink Voice is seeking a disciplined and highly skilled Managed IT Support Technician to support in the Fairhope and Greater Mobile area. This role is a critical touchpoint in our service delivery, requiring a sophisticated blend of remote technical troubleshooting and high-impact, on‑site infrastructure support. The position requires travel to client sites, necessitating a professional demeanor and a "boots‑on‑the‑ground" problem‑solving mindset.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues via remote helpdesk tools and on‑site intervention.
- Perform installations, configurations, and maintenance of servers, workstations, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
- Monitor and optimize LAN/WAN performance.
- Deploy and manage managed antivirus (EDR), patch management, and backup/disaster recovery (BDR) solutions.
- Conduct on‑site audits and "Health Checks" to identify potential vulnerabilities or hardware life cycles that require upgrading.
- Maintain meticulous records of network configurations, credentials, and ticketing logs within our PSA/RMM platforms.
- Advanced administration of Windows Server (2016‑2022) and Windows 10/11; familiarity with macOS environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN tunneling.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and Azure/AWS environments.
- Proficiency in configuring business‑grade hardware (e.g., Ubiquiti, Cisco, Sonic Wall, Dell, and HP).
- You are a self‑starter who can work independently at a client site while maintaining a high standard of professional ethics and cleanliness.
- You possess the ability to deconstruct complex technical failures under pressure and communicate the resolution clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Must be highly organized and punctual.
- 3+ years of professional experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment or as a Systems Administrator.
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator (Associate) are highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required for daily travel to client locations (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical installations (e.g., racking servers or mounting APs).
