Senior Purchasing Manager

Fit Recruiting is seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager for a well-established industrial company on the Eastern Shore. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced purchasing professional who can drive strategic sourcing initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and lead purchasing operations. Salary range is $90,000-$105,000, depending on experience.

• Lead and manage the company's purchasing and procurement functions
• Supervise, mentor, and support an existing Purchasing Agent
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers and vendors
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and evaluate vendor performance
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with operations to ensure timely material availability
• Analyze purchasing trends, market conditions, and cost‑saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with company policies, purchasing procedures, and industry regulations
• Collaborate with operations, warehouse, production, and leadership teams to support business objectives
• Prepare reports and provide purchasing insights to executive leadership

• Minimum of 7 years of purchasing experience within an industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or related environment
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and strategic sourcing skills
• Experience managing supplier contracts and procurement processes
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required, with relevant experience
