Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role as an Industrial / Commercial Overhead Door Install Technician. Our office is located in Daphne, AL. Technician travels in company truck to industrial and commercial job sites and is responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing Industrial and Commercial overhead doors and dock equipment. Technicians are responsible for management of truck, its inventory, and most importantly to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications/Experience- Must have valid driver's license and provide MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
- Must pass a Background Check and Drug/Alcohol Screening.
- Must pass safety training and obtain a TWIC Card for Plant Entry.
- Experience with overhead door installation, maintenance, dock leveler installation preferred.
- Welding experience (GMAW and SMAW) is a plus.
- Must be a motivated self-starter that can work safely under high-pressure situations in a team setting and independently.
- Must meet physical requirements, including ability to lift at least 50 pounds, stand, stoop, twist, push, pull, climb, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices), work from heights and work overhead.
- Must be skilled in using power tools, hand tools, lifts, etc.
- Must be punctual and able to work Monday – Friday (7 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m.) Overtime eligible. - Strong troubleshooting skills, able to analyze and resolve problems, attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Perform tasks within scope of installing, dismantling, repairing and maintaining various types of industrial and commercial overhead doors, docks and related hardware ensuring they function efficiently and safely.
- Maintain and operate basic tools such as grinders, air tools, wrenches, battery powered equipment, etc.
- Perform quality checks on installations and repairs to ensure they meet the company’s unsurpassed quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and installations as required.
- May operate Scissor lifts, lulls, forklifts, trucks, and other equipment.
- Work on ladders at all heights as well as scissor lifts and aerial platforms.
- Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Mount operators to head-plates, framework, and fabric mounts.
- Manage truck inventory and equipment needed for daily jobs/tasks. Account for all parts used to complete job and restock inventory as needed.
- Work with customers and project managers to complete work assignments, resolve any field-related issues and provide necessary feedback to Management.
- Complete all assigned projects safely, efficiently and productively.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite environment.
