Full-Time 12 months Salaried Casa dei Delco is seeking talented, compassionate and mission-driven Head Montessori Guides to lead our Infant, Toddler or Primary classrooms in Darby Borough. Our Guides uphold Montessori principles with fidelity while nurturing childrens independence, curiosity and joy of learning.
Responsibilities Lead a fully prepared Montessori classroom in alignment with AMI/AMS/MACTE standards
Model Montessori philosophy, grace and courtesy and peaceful conflict resolution
Oversee non-credentialed Guides, Assistants and Afternoon staff within the classroom
Present lessons individually and in small groups following child readiness cues Prepare and maintain an orderly, beautiful, developmentally aligned environment
Complete daily, weekly and term documentation in accordance with PAIS expectations
Observe children regularly, record developmental notes and adjust instruction accordingly
Conduct family communication, conferences and progress reports
Maintain compliance with PA Department of Education ratios, health guidelines and licensing rules
Support children through a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to uphold Casa dei Delcos mission
Required Certification Montessori credential (AMI, AMS, or MACTE-approved) for the level being taught or working towards:
Infant (6 weeks-18 months)
Toddler (18 months-36 months)
Primary (36 years)
Required Education To meet PA Daycare Licensing and PA DOE standards:
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education or a related field OR Bachelors degree in another field with at least 12 ECE credits (accepted by PA DHS)(Equivalent degrees accepted per PAIS/AMS guidelines.)Required Experience Experience in a Montessori environment preferred (minimum 12 years)
Experience working with children ages birth6 in a school, childcare or educational setting
Understanding of the Montessori developmental planes and mixed-age grouping
