Senior Property Accountant

LHH is working with a privately held real estate development and investment firm based in Darien, Connecticut to hire a Senior Property Accountant. This role is 5 days in-office.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and rent rolls
• Perform detailed account reconciliations across multiple entities
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activity
• Handle tenant billings
  , including CAM reconciliations and maintenance fee allocations
• Review and interpret lease agreements to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries
• Support investor reporting, including financial packages and annual budgets
• Coordinate with external accountants for tax return preparation and filings
• Prepare 1099 / 1096 / W-2 forms as required
• Assist with process improvements as internal property management capabilities are established

Qualifications 3+ years of real estate accounting experience required with strong background in:

• CAM reconciliations
• Lease abstraction and review
• Maintenance fee accounting
• Yardi experience strongly preferred
• High proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
• Comfortable working in a small, in-office environment with a growing organization
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and take ownership of responsibilities
