The Engineering Manager leads the plant’s engineering function, providing strategic and technical direction to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all manufacturing systems and processes.
Responsibilities- Lead capital planning to meet business unit goals and prioritize projects within the corporate portfolio.
- Ensure all capital proposals align with business strategy and deliver competitive implementation.
- Manage costs associated with capex, period expense, and depreciation.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect against loss and business interruption.
- Promote compliance with best financial practices and capital productivity processes.
- Provide daily plant support for troubleshooting batch process deviations using structured root cause analysis and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Drive programs to improve first-pass yield, reduce scrap and waste, and eliminate chronic issues.
- Implement robust control plans and FMEA processes for product families.
- Define and execute continuous improvement roadmaps to enhance capability, yield, capacity, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct and manage SPC reviews, driving reduction in variation and process instability.
- Implement process improvements that anticipate future needs and set new performance benchmarks.
- Utilize root cause analysis and data-driven insights to eliminate inefficiencies and prevent recurrence of issues.
- Leverage automation, advanced analytics, and digital tools to maximize process capability and improve OEE.
- Champion a culture of operational excellence, continuously evaluating cost, quality, and speed improvements.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives to standardize and optimize workflows, ensuring sustainable gains and measurable impact on productivity and customer satisfaction.
- BS in Manufacturing/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in process engineering, project/facility management, or capital project management in industrial applications.
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing teams and leading employees through resource management and project prioritization.
- Experience in new product development and scale‑up of products and processes.
- Direct experience with customer interactions and semiconductor industry expectations.
- Strong knowledge of process controls and distributed control systems.
- Proven ability to drive engineering excellence and best practices.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; highly self‑driven and proactive.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in personnel development, team building, conflict resolution, and sound judgment.
- Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence, with a proven track record of identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
