Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non-profit organization supporting adult individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by providing them with Residential, Vocational, Recreation and Day Support Services.
Direct Support Professional (DSP) sought to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our Day Program. This role offers the opportunity to make an impactful and meaningful difference in someone else’s life every day.
DescriptionBARC is currently seeking professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our Day Program. Services include but are not limited to assisting individuals, promoting personal growth and reaching their goals daily activities, by providing personal care, and attending community and social activities. Applicants with no experience or seeking a career change are encouraged to apply — we will train the right candidates.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least age 18.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- May require ability to obtain Public Passenger Endorsement (PPE) license.

- Transport individuals to and from programs and activities.

- Electronically record daily activities, maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect identity, medical, and HIPAA information.
- Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
- Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds, push/pull varying weight (wheelchairs) or have to safely transfer ~35 pounds.
