Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Landscape Architect to perform landscape architecture design under the close supervision of a senior landscape architect. The role involves hardscape detailing and grading using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The successful candidate will participate in project-related meetings to coordinate activities and will assist in the preparation of landscape architecture deliverables including models, drawings, and other project-related documentation.
Job Title:Landscape Architect Responsibilities
- Perform landscape architecture design under the guidance of a senior landscape architect.
- Detail hardscapes and grading using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Participate in project meetings to coordinate activities and communicate effectively.
- Assist in the preparation of landscape architecture deliverables such as models and drawings.
- Conduct field surveys, condition assessments, and site investigations.
- Perform construction administration tasks, including submittal review, responding to RFIs, and observing construction activities.
- Proficiency in landscape design and architecture using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Experience with site surveys, site investigations, and construction documentation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with various internal clients.
- A self-starter attitude with a desire to learn the industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with ornamental and native plants of the Midwest.
- 0-3 years of professional landscape architecture experience focusing on public and recreation markets.
- Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.
Our office offers an open‑office environment, encouraging collaboration among a team of four landscape architects and 6‑7 civil engineers and designers. The role is production‑based, providing opportunities to accrue hours towards licensing. The position supports diverse projects such as park and recreation centers and K-12 education facilities. The workweek is Monday through Thursday, with half‑days on Friday, totaling a minimum of 40 hours a week with occasional overtime.
The dress code is business professional, transitioning to business casual on Fridays. The office is a LEED Platinum building with ample parking, including priority parking for hybrid vehicles. Facilities include a kitchen with a microwave and tables for lunch.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Darien, IL.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
