Special Education Teacher
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging elementary school environment this academic term. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on supporting a group of approximately 10 students in grades 3-5, offering both pullout and push-in services as a resource teacher. Your expertise and care will help students thrive in an inclusive setting from now through December 21st.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to special education students in grades 3-5
- Deliver both pullout and push-in minutes based on students individualized needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, counselors, and staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, meeting all compliance guidelines
- Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Current Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (Illinois)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher is highly desirable
- Thorough knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and IEP development
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity and academic success for all learners
- Must be able to work onsite
