Assistant Resident Engineer

• Coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders to ensure project success
• Composure and diplomatic problem solving
• Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
• Perform general field inspection of road and bridge construction
• Measure, calculate, and report installed quantities
• Monitor materials sampling and testing schedules
• Monitor and analyze progress of contractor’s work
• Monitor and lead inspection team

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar engineering field
• 7+ years’ experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies
• Certifications including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
• GPS knowledge a plus
• A sense of humor

Salary Range
: $90,000 - $115,000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
