Groups Meetings & Events Support Coordinator

Location:

Kent or West Sussex (hybrid )

Salary: £31,000 to £33,000 depending on experience

Job type:
Permanent, full time (part time considered)

At Rockpool, we are delighted to be working with a respected corporate travel business with a long history and a strong reputation for personal service.

They are looking for a Groups Meetings & Events Support Coordinator to support their specialist events team. From conferences to high-profile gatherings, that team handles the travel for attendees and senior guests, and you will be the one making sure all the arrangements behind the scenes fall perfectly into place.

Never worked in events? No problem. This is a brilliant opportunity for a business travel consultant who wants a fresh challenge, without the late nights and time on the road that usually come with events work.

What will I be doing?
  • Arranging flights for groups and attendees through the GDS, along with hotel blocks, trains and transfers
  • Building and maintaining attendee, hotel and travel lists so everyone is accounted for
  • Keeping a close eye on key deadlines for holds, payments and releasing unused space
  • Making changes and cancellations quickly and accurately, even at the eleventh hour
  • Being the friendly link between suppliers, event organisers and colleagues
What experience do I need?
  • Two years or more booking travel, with business travel experience preferred
  • Strong GDS knowledge, Amadeus ideally, including issuing and reissuing tickets
  • A really organised approach, with the ability to keep lots of plates spinning without missing a detail
  • A warm, clear communication style and the ability to stay unflappable when things shift
  • Any experience with group bookings, hotel blocks or conference travel would be a plus, but you will be supported to learn
What else do I need to know?

£31,000 to £33,000 depending on experience, pro rata if part time

Monday to Friday, normal office hours, with part-time options available

Hybrid, with a choice of two locations

No events to attend or venues to visit, so you can enjoy a proper work-life balance

A tight-knit team who really value good people
